It's November and I've been turning on all our string lights and lighting candles after 4 p.m. because it is very dark this time of year in Sweden.

If you noticed, I haven't written a blogpost in a while. I've been busy writing the Change My Mind Book, working on the song I'm Allowed to be Myself and doing all the things that a mom, wife and grandma do. Speaking of being a grandma, I became one for the second time on November 9th! It was a boy, no name yet, weighing 4,2 kilograms and he's very healthy! Johan and I are so happy to have held him already! Here he is! Now we have two grandsons! So blessed!

Book News:

The Change My Mind (CMM) Book (first draft) - I'm on chapter 8 of 12. (YAY!) Rising is the title of the eighth chapter of the CMM book and the name of the eighth song on the CMM album. In the book I share what happened after coming home from Nashville where I did an audition and received constructive criticism on my performance and demo. I almost gave up! It took almost three years to remix the album and then release it in the middle of the COVID outbreak. As I looked back. I saw how God was working out all things for my good despite my weakness and failures! I was becoming stronger as the music was growing.

That brings me to this month's power verse: Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

< Here is an AI prompted illustration from chapter 8. that I am going to use in the ebook version. The whole book is illustrated using AI. I don't have time to draw/paint. Using AI frees up my time.

Here is the link to the music video, Rising - the song that is behind the story in chapter 8:

It's a happy, funky worship song based on a children's prayer.

My hope is to get the first draft completely done and sent to the editor before Christmas. 🩷

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Next weekend we are going to have a family get together in Copenhagen (where two of my three adult children live). It's a bit early to celebrate Thanksgiving, but that is when everyone could come and see the new baby. I am going to make all the traditional stuff: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy; a salad plate with filled eggs, celery, carrots, olives, etc; a mixed salad with tomato soup dressing, and two pies - pumpkin and apple, with whipped cream for dessert. So I have my work cut out for me this week.

Here is my family recipe for tomato soup dressing that works well on dark greens like kale and spinach (especially bacon, egg and spinach salad!) but even on Iceberg lettuce salads:

Tomato Salad Dressing

1 (1 1/3 cup) can of Campbell's tomato soup

3/4 cup diluted red vinegar, (1/2 cup vinegar plus 1/4 cu water)

1/2 cup of sugar (I use less)

1 1/2 cup olive oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 dried red bell pepper

2 T Worcestershire Sauce

1 T prepared mustard

In a bowl, mix it all and beat/whip it into a fine sauce.

For some extra sting you can add a clove of finely minced garlic

Store in a glass jar. Good for weeks.

Enjoy!

Music News:

I just got back some tracks from the pianist for the song I'm Allowed to Be Myself. I hope to integrate his work into my project and then I'll have to go into the next phase of the song - balance and automation before finally referencing and mastering. I hope to share it with you soon! Here's the first verse:

I'm allowed to be myself - to be the one I am

To laugh and play and sing and shout

To walk barefoot in the sand

I don't have to prove my worth or try to be the best

I am loved for who I am by my Father in heaven

And here is the CD cover idea. What do you think? Drop me a line at: info@featherheadmedia.com

I need to pay other musicians, guitar strings and this month I renew two major subscriptions: Landr and Waves.com that I use to make music. Thanks for your donation no matter the size! God bless!
